They traveled across the world to fall in love. He is a native of Australia. She is a native of New York. They met in San Francisco. They share a love for good food, literature and beach combing. In fact, they are self-described beach lovers, both having grown up on the coast.
The theme of their wedding was coastal elegance. We scowered the California Coast looking for an oceanfront venue that could host their large invite list (275 friends and family from across the globe) in style. They chose Santa Barbara. They named their dinner tables after various coastlines they had spent time together.
The evening was filled with memories. They were married by a man in a kilt (a Scottish lord) that was an old family friend of the bride’s family. They wed on top of the same rug that the bride’s parents had wed on decades earlier. They preformed – first a choreographed dance, then a duet together. The crowd danced wildly to a rocking 14-piece band with a full horn section. They ended their wedding doing what every ocean loving couple would do – by crowd surfing and skinny-dipping in the Pacific.
